The industry leader in collaborative research and consulting for higher education, Eduventures is committed to providing colleges and universities with cost-effective, data-driven research and analysis designed to improve critical operations and practices.

Eduventures was founded in 1993 by Michael R. Sandler. The firm is privately held and headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts.

Harnessing the Power of Data


Eduventures Learning Collaboratives are a continuum-of-service membership model offering collective and individualized opportunities to make the most of shared, collaborative data. Within each program, opportunities exist to explore or further analyze specific topics or issues uncovered in the research, potentially leading to the implementation of data-driven solutions. Members are provided with collaborative research, custom analysis, and implementation support. Eduventures currently has eight Learning Collaboratives:

  • Academic Leadership – Helps college and university presidents, chancellors, provosts, and chief academic officers understand and address campuswide transformational issues: faculty development and support; faculty measurement and compensation; curricular innovation, learning outcomes and assessment; and academic affairs and student success.

  • Continuing and Professional Education – Designed to help universities and colleges to identify new revenue and growth opportunities, improve organizational and operational performance, and keep current with leading management practices in the continuing and professional education community.

  • Development – Focuses on common challenges development divisions face, including annual giving, campaign planning and management, development services, development strategy and organization, individual and institutional giving, and staff management.

  • Enrollment Management – Addresses key issues related to enrollment management, including affordability and financial aid, branding and identity, community college transfers, marketing, recruiting, and admissions, organization and staffing, regional/out-of-state recruiting, and student retention and persistence.

  • Online Higher Education – Focuses on helping universities and colleges grow their online enrollments, develop strategy for online higher education, and make their online operations more efficient and effective.

  • Schools of Education – Helps education schools address the challenges associated with recruiting and serving students, demonstrating accountability, and managing faculty and operations.

  • Student Affairs – Provides research and services related outcomes assessment, minority student success, campus climate, student affairs division organization and staffing, and student health and wellness, including mental health and alcohol and drug use.

  • Summer Sessions – Designed to help directors of university summer sessions improve the administration, operation, and performance of these programs, as well as raise the overall profile of summer sessions.

Eduventures Consulting Services provides highly customized, proprietary consulting and management services to colleges and universities drawing on market research, data analysis, and best practices developed through the company's Learning Collaboratives. Projects conducted by Eduventures consultants include:
