TOM DRETLER OF EDUVENTURES SELECTED AS ONE OF BOSTON BUSINESS JOURNAL'S
RISING BUSINESS STARS
(Boston, MA) October 11, 2007 - The Boston Business Journal (BBJ) today announced that Tom Dretler, president and CEO of Eduventures, has been selected as one of its 40 Under 40 honorees for 2007. The annual program recognizes 40 Boston-area professionals under the age of 40 for their business success and community contributions.
According to the BBJ, this year's honorees – selected from a pool of more than 250 nominations – come from a broad spectrum in the Boston business community and represent the talent and commitment that helps to drive the regional economy.
"Boston's competitive advantage is its collective brainpower," said Michael Olivieri, publisher of the Boston Business Journal. "Our 40 Under 40 class reflects the deep talent pool that gives Boston its economic edge."
In selecting Dretler, the Boston Business Journal cited his continued and highly successful tenure at Eduventures, a company now considered the leader in collaborative research and consulting for the higher education market. The BBJ also recognized Dretler's commitment to the community and responsible economic growth as reflected in his work with Jumpstart and the Progressive Business Leaders Network.
Honorees are selected by an editorial committee after the BBJ solicits nominations from the business community. "Each year, the selection process gets tougher as the quality of the nominations climb," said George Donnelly, editor of the BBJ.
"It's a humbling experience to review the nominations," Donnelly said. "Our goal is to choose a 40 Under 40 class that highlights individual achievement and also represents the breadth and promise of the local economy."
The Boston Business Journal will hold its 10th Annual 40 Under 40 Awards Celebration on Thursday, Oct. 11 at the Marriott Copley Hotel beginning at 6 p.m. For details on attending the event, visit http://events.bizjournals.com/3230. The BBJ’s Oct. 12 issue contains a special supplement with profiles of the honorees.
