Eduventures Student Affairs Learning Collaborative
The Student Affairs Learning Collaborative (SA-LC) focuses on common challenges student affairs divisions face, including learning and development outcomes measurement, minority student success, mental health and counseling, organizational and staff development, student retention, and persistence. SA-LC provides insight and direction to identify best management practices, benchmark performance, and improve core processes through research, analysis, and networking opportunities.
SA-LC provides Collaborative Research, Custom Research, and opportunities for interactions with our analysts and with decision-makers at peer institutions. Research is organized into four tracks: learning outcomes, health and wellness, student engagement, and organizational design.
SA-LC’s recent and upcoming Collaborative Research studies include:
Achieving Strategic Alignment
As student affairs divisions take on an increasing number of activities and functions central to the university mission, demands for organizational alignment, performance, and accountability have increased. This study will examine the strategies student affairs leaders use to create strategic alignment through measurement and staff development. The study also will investigate the strategies for professional development that help prepare student affairs leaders with the necessary technical, management, and leadership skills for student affairs’ emerging strategic role.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Co-curricular learning in areas including civic engagement, intercultural maturity, and leadership skills are increasingly central to colleges’ and universities’ mission and educational strategy. This study will investigate the aspects of the university experience that support learning beyond the classroom in all three of these development areas.
