Examples of Past Eduventures Consulting Services Projects
Concerned that unhappiness with its student services was negatively impacting its student retention level, a university in the Northwest turned to Eduventures Consulting Services (ECS) for assistance. To help them identify the highest impact opportunities for improvement, the ECS team planned and implemented a student survey and conducted focus groups with students on campus. The research determined that most students were actually satisfied with the student services being offered on campus, but due to a lack of coordination across all the functions within student services, some students felt frustrated by the contradictory messages they were receiving. In addition, significant variation existed in the student satisfaction level in the different functions. Eduventures Consulting Services helped the client develop an integrated messaging strategy within student services and identified those functions that students had identified as high importance but in which they had low satisfaction to help the school determine where to focus its efforts to achieve the highest impact.
Concerned about the financial condition of her school, the President of a college in the Midwest was interested in retiring a few underperforming programs. However, she knew that any decision to retire specific programs would meet significant resistance from internal stakeholders, so she turned to Eduventures Consulting Services for assistance. In response, the ECS team developed a program retirement model that examined program financials, external market forces, and integration within the school's overall strategic direction to determine whether a specific program should be retired. The client was able to use this model to objectively evaluate the viability of several underperforming programs and achieve internal buy-in on the evaluations.
