Eduventures - Research and Consulting for Higher Education

Development

DEV

The Eduventures Development Learning Collaborative (DEV-LC) brings chief development officers together with their peers from other institutions to exchange best practices and to find solutions to shared challenges such as campaign planning, gift officer productivity, and stewarding donors.

The Development Learning Collaborative can help you to:

  • Segment prospect databases by comparing current donor trends and data to prospects
  • Increase efficiency by measuring gift officer productivity and uncovering major gift-giving trends
  • Advocate for more university resources by benchmarking operational costs, staffing levels, and campaign expectations
  • Innovate by collecting effective and economical practices in stewardship and cultivation from peer institutions

Senior Analyst Alicia Reed explores how schools can transform their
institutions through big ideas, while ensuring opportunities for mega gifts

  • Cost Effective: The membership model allows members to access Eduventures' expert analysts and peer network for a fraction of the cost of proprietary consulting.

  • Increased Efficiency: By learning from peers, members reduce the risk of reinventing the wheel when addressing challenges or launching new initiatives. Additionally, Eduventures’ analysts conduct thorough preliminary research for members to help them allocate limited resources effectively. Finally, our team can help university leaders to decipher and analyze the wealth of data that often exists in house, but is not fully used due to resource constraints.

  • Wisdom of Experience: Eduventures focuses exclusively on higher education, making our team of analysts and practitioners some of the country's leading experts on the sector. (See where our experts have been quoted.) Additionally, through our membership programs, we are in regular contact with thousands of practitioners in the field to ensure the relevance and timeliness of our analysis.

  • Multi-layered Support: We know that campus leaders have a diverse set of challenges, be they recruiting and retaining students, launching new degree programs, or securing resources. Our peer network, broad research into shared challenges, institution-specific analysis, and one-on-one guidance offer members a complex system of support to meet any challenge effectively.

Collaboration With Peers

  • Each member is immediately linked into a dynamic peer network to exchange best practices and share solutions to common challenges.
  • Members set a research agenda for Eduventures' expert analysts to carry out. We conduct 2-3 membershipwide research projects each year to delve deeply into the most pressing challenges our members face.
  • Members come together in person once a year and participate in regular phone and web meetings and discussions about current issues.
  • Members have online access to all research reports completed for the program.

Customized Support

  • You can consider Eduventures' expert analysts as an extension of your team. They are always available by phone to brainstorm, provide insight, and deliver quick analysis and recommendations to members.
  • Each member can commission customized research projects at any time. Eduventures’ analysts work directly with members to design the investigation, deliver the analysis, and guide decision-making based on the results.
  • Our expert advisors visit each of our members once a year to provide in-person guidance – whether working with staff during a strategic planning retreat or presenting market research results and recommendations to institutional leaders. Our campus visits are one of the most popular and valuable components of membership.

Jennifer Zaslow explains how Development Learning Collaborative
members are making use of strategy sessions with Eduventures' analysts

Program Director Jen Zaslow
discusses the work of the
Development
Learning Collaborative

"I am very pleased with our relationship with Eduventures and it's well worth belonging as a member institution. Jennifer Zaslow and Alicia Reed from the Development Learning Collaborative research team recently came to our campus and helped us review our approach to metrics. Their work put me in the enviable position of rolling out a new approach that is supported both by hard data as well as by the consensus of my team. What a great outcome!"
