Eduventures - Research and Consulting for Higher Education

Schools of Education

SOE

The Eduventures Schools of Education Learning Collaborative (SOE-LC) brings deans of schools of education together with their peers from other institutions to exchange best practices and to find solutions for shared challenges such as increasing operational efficiency, curriculum development, and outcomes assessment.

In this environment of increasing competition, intensifying accountability expectations, and changing student expectations, your school of education can look to Eduventures for help.

  • We can serve as a cost-effective, outsourced assessment and institutional research partner.
  • We can identify cost-containment opportunities on your campus by benchmarking and comparing your operations to those of your peers.
  • We can increase the effectiveness of marketing and recruiting efforts by conducting prospective and current student surveys, evaluating your existing marketing materials, and identifying market trends.
  • We can help you to innovate by identifying and highlighting effective and economical practices at other schools of education.

Kristen Fox and Mindy Hershberger discuss how
SOE-LC will be helping schools of education in 2010.

  • Cost Effective: The membership model allows members to access Eduventures' expert analysts and peer network for a fraction of the cost of proprietary consulting.

  • Increased Efficiency: By learning from peers, members reduce the risk of reinventing the wheel when addressing challenges or launching new initiatives. Additionally, Eduventures' analysts conduct thorough preliminary research for members to help them allocate limited resources effectively. Finally, our team can help university leaders to decipher and analyze the wealth of data that often exists in house, but is not fully used due to resource constraints.

  • Wisdom of Experience: Eduventures focuses exclusively on higher education, making our team of analysts and practitioners some of the country's leading experts on the sector. (See where our experts have been quoted.) Additionally, through our membership programs, we are in regular contact with thousands of practitioners in the field to ensure the relevance and timeliness of our analysis.

  • Multi-layered Support: We know that campus leaders have a diverse set of challenges, be they recruiting and retaining students, launching new degree programs, or securing resources. Our peer network, broad research into shared challenges, institution-specific analysis, and one-on-one guidance offer members a complex system of support to meet any challenge effectively.

Collaboration With Peers

  • Each member is immediately linked into a dynamic peer network to exchange best practices and share solutions to common challenges.
  • Members set a research agenda for Eduventures' expert analysts to carry out. We conduct 2-3 membershipwide research projects each year to delve deeply into the most pressing challenges our members face.
  • Members come together in person once a year and participate in regular phone and web meetings and discussions about current issues.
  • Members have online access to all research reports completed for the program.

Customized Support

  • You can consider Eduventures' expert analysts as an extension of your team. They are always available by phone to brainstorm, provide insight, and deliver quick analysis and recommendations to members.
  • Each member can commission customized research projects at any time. Eduventures' analysts work directly with members to design the investigation, deliver the analysis, and guide decision-making based on the results.
  • Our expert advisors visit each of our members once a year to provide in-person guidance -- whether working with staff during a strategic planning retreat or presenting market research results and recommendations to institutional leaders. Our campus visits are one of the most popular and valuable components of membership.

Program Director Kristen Fox
discusses the work of the
Schools of Education
Learning Collaborative

"For assessment and accountability purposes, we see a real benefit to having a third party analyze data for us.  Eduventures provides a really cost-effective service, and we find it to be very reasonable relative to the value that we are getting out of it."
